How Homestuck Time Travel Relates to the Writings of Steven Kern
This is a video essay made as a final project for my New Media Theory class. In this, I discuss how the complex machinations of time travel in the multimedia webcomic Homestuck can be explained in the principles of time discussed in media theorist Steven Kern's book, The Culture of Time and Space. While much of the content in this video is re-purposed content from the comic itself, I created a series of original drawings to accompany parts of the video. These illustrations can be viewed below.
Overall, production on this video lasted about a week.
